At CNN, she reported on race and equality, breaking major political stories, including investigations into discrimination against farmers of color, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and coverage of the Supreme Court. Her work also appears on NPR, where her stories reach millions of listeners on Morning Edition, All Things Considered, and national newscasts.
Her journalism has earned a Salute to Excellence Award from the National Association of Black Journalists, and The Today Show, CNN, and Oprah.com have featured her advocacy for reproductive health. In addition to her reporting, she has worked as a voiceover artist, with commercials and projects featured on national television, radio, and digital platforms. Born and raised in Florence, Alabama, Duster holds a master’s degree in Journalism and Public Affairs from American University and a bachelor’s in broadcast journalism from Virginia Commonwealth University.
