Washington, D.C.’s Chinatown was once home to a large and thriving Chinese American community, with shops, restaurants, and family-owned businesses lining its streets. Today, much of that community is gone. The Emancipator examined the history, decline, and changing face of D.C.’s Chinatown– and what its story tells us about how gentrification creates cultural erasure. 

She has previously worked for ABC 7News and Hawaii News Now, where she fell in love with getting out in the community and reporting.
